Last year during the Autumn Term, Travis in Year 8 attended an important meeting in my office and shared a vision he had created with Mr Smith, our Outdoor Education Coordinator, to place outdoor education firmly on the map within our school curriculum. He managed to secure £3000 of funding which started an exciting journey. Since then the outdoor education provision has grown exponentially from the construction of an Ed-Shed, the provision of a path to Ed-Shed, raised beds, recycled pallet tables, benches and chairs, the creation of a compost area, a specially designed workshop area inside the shed, a growing number of plants and vegetables, the opportunity to toast marshmallows around a fire pit……………the journey continues each and every day!
