Revision Techniques event
On Thursday 17 October the main hall was packed with Year 11 students, parents and carers ready to learn different strategies and techniques for revision. Mrs Greenwood, Assistant Headteacher,  opened the event, discussing the timeline of events for Year 11 for the remainder of this year and then gave some useful pointers such as:
  • Ensuring there is a dedicated and organised work space
  • Snack don’t binge – 20-30 minutes worth of revision at a time works best
  • Revision starts early – i.e. now!

She also looked at how we learn the best and the best revision techniques you can utilise to maximise the outcomes

Miss Booth, Head of Science Faculty, Mr Wood, Key Stage 4 maths Coordinator and Mr Johnson, Associate leader and English Teacher then delivered a focus on the best revision sites and support for the core subjects of English, maths and science.

Mrs Smith then finished by emphasising the importance of attendance linked to attainment and discussed the importance of Mindfulness.

The students left with a pack of useful revision resources to help start them on their journey to success.
