It was great to be able to welcome so many of our hardworking Year 11 students and their parents and carers to the school on Tuesday evening and gather in the Main Hall to hear about all the support the school is putting in place over the next few weeks and months to help our students achieve their potential in the forthcoming GCSE examinations.
With 43 days to go before the first examination, and only 18 school days, it was great to hear from some of the key leaders across the core subjects of English, Maths and Science and fully understand those all-important top tips that will help the students maximise their performance in May and June of this year.
Head of Standards, Safeguarding and SEND Mrs Ash and Assistant Headteacher Mrs Greenwood also spoke about some of the more generic activities taking place including weekly revision sessions, Easter revision sessions, Study Saturdays starting on May 4th and the Maximising Achievement timetable providing those powerful last minute 2 hour sessions just before each examination that will remind the students of all the key examination strategies and tips to really get them into the zone as they enter the exam room.
We do wish all the students in Year 11 all the best in these important last few weeks. Let’s hope we are able to celebrate in August with all of them knowing that they have all done their best, whatever level they achieve in their exams.

Government reports published this month have highlighted the critical links between student attendance and both GCSE results and future earnings, underscoring the importance of...
