Welcome back! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and is ready for the new academic year ahead. Our classrooms, corridors and playgrounds are already buzzing with energy and enthusiasm.
A particular highlight for me from the first week back has been seeing the creativity and teamwork of our Year 7s in Beech House, who made me incredibly proud with the impressive towers they designed and built. Their efforts showed not only imagination but also fantastic collaboration — a brilliant start to their journey at Bushey Meads!
Looking ahead, one of the key events this term will be the launch of our House Arts Competition. This annual celebration of creativity brings together students from every year group to showcase their skills across a wide range of artistic subjects – there will be something for everyone to get involved in.
The competition isn’t just about individual expression — it’s also about teamwork and house pride. Every entry will contribute points toward the overall house score, making this both a showcase of talent and a chance to celebrate and represent your house. Of course though I want the winner to come from Beech House!
Over the coming weeks, students will receive more information about how to enter, the categories on offer and key dates for submissions and performances. Whether you’re an experienced performer, a budding artist or someone eager to try something new, we encourage you all to take part.
Let’s make this year’s House Arts Competition one to remember!
