Preparing for PPEs

As we approach next week’s pre-public examinations, our aim is to ensure every student feels confident, calm, and ready. The PPEs are a vital step in preparing for the summer exams – they help students practise under real conditions and understand where to focus their revision efforts.

Let’s work together to make this a positive and productive experience for all.

📅 Mock Exam Timetable

🗓 Dates: Monday 10th November – Friday 21st

November

  • Full timetables are available on ARBOR
  • Morning exams start at 8:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon exams start at 1:45 p.m.
✅ Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and setup.

🧠 Top Revision Tips for Success

  1. Plan Your Time – Use a study timetable to balance subjects evenly.
  2. Active Revision – Try quizzes, flashcards, and timed practice papers.
  3. Focus on Weak Areas – Spend extra time on topics you find most difficult.
  4. Stay Healthy – Sleep well, eat nutritious meals, and take short breaks.
  5. Ask for Support – Please ask your teachers for support where needed.

✏️ Equipment Checklist

Bring the following items to every exam:

  • 🖊 Two black pens
  • ✏️ Pencil and sharpener
  • 📏 Ruler
  • 🧮 Calculator (for permitted exams)
  • 💧 Water bottle (label-free)
  • 📎 Transparent pencil case

🚫 Phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices must be handed in in the exam room prior to the start of each exam.

💬 Looking After Your Wellbeing

Exams can sometimes feel stressful and that’s completely normal!
Remember: PPEs are practice, not pressure.

🌅 Eat breakfast for a calm, nutritious start.

💬 The Pastoral Team and School Counsellor are available for students who need extra support.

📊 After the Mocks

📅 Results Day: Friday 9th January
Following this, teachers will provide individualised feedback and targeted revision strategies. Structured revision sessions will also start and individual support will be offered to those who are not quite meeting their potential.

💬 Quote of the Week

“The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.”

🌟 Final Reminders

  • Check your timetable carefully.
  • Prepare your exam bag the night before.
  • Believe in yourself — you’ve worked hard for this moment!

Good luck to all our Year 11 students — we are proud of you!
