Loving Literacy at BMS
We continue to work hard to encourage all students to build regular reading into their daily lives and develop that passion and love for life-long learning through reading.
Last Friday Lead Practitioner Ms Druce reminded all staff in our Friday Faculty Focus about all the strategies we use and employ across the school to support this key agenda and modelled how to conduct the Friday CDC Reading Activity in an exemplary way.
On Friday the whole school falls silent and all CDCs read a carefully chosen set text to the students in their Character Development Group, pausing and discussing the key words and expanding on the context and meaning of the text.
It is a great way to demonstrate to all students how important it is to read and develop a good knowledge of language.
As parents and carers do encourage your children to read each and every day as we know that reading underpins all achievement.
