Getting Ready for Work
Year 10 students took part in a whole host of career-related activities last Thursday during the school’s latest enrichment day and it was impressive to see them so engaged and motivated to do well.
The sessions were led by external leaders from a whole host of different companies and workplaces and were built around preparing for interviews, developing problem-solving and team-work skills and understanding what the employers of today, and indeed tomorrow, would be looking for in their potential job applicants.
One session in the day provided all the students with the opportunity to take part in a group interview, which will of course stand them all in great stead for any future interviews for Sixth Form, College, University and the workplace beyond Bushey Meads.
The visiting speakers and workshop leaders commented very positively about all the students and they were extremely impressed with their maturity and high attitudes to learning displayed throughout the day.
