Fabulous Friday Reading
It was great to be able to join a few different CDC Groups last Friday morning and see all the students engaged so well with our Friday Reading programme, aimed at developing and strengthening literacy levels and expanding vocabulary in our learners.
I enjoyed supporting the talented CDCs by reading a few passages of the carefully chosen literacy texts myself and discussing the pertinent words and contexts of the writing with the students.
I was particularly impressed with students in 8 Willow with Mr Kasza, one of our top Character Development Coaches in the school. Students’ attitudes to learning were excellent – everyone was following carefully using their BMS Bookmarks to stay in line with the text being read by their CDC. It made for a fabulous start to the day.
