Excellent Friday Reading with 10 Ash
As we continue to prioritise the development of high level literacy with our students across the school community, it was great to be able to pop into 10 Ash’s Character Development Time on Friday morning last week and hear Lead Practitioner Ms Druce read to the group. As Lead Practitioner for English and Literacy she visits a whole range of CDC groups at Bushey Meads and often shares best practice with this important agenda with colleagues.
The short video clip shows all the students in the group carefully following the text, some of them using the BMS Bookmark and Ms Druce occasionally stopping to claify some of the words and discuss the context of the writing.
I was really impressed with the focus and concentration shown by the students and am looking forward to the continued development of English and literacy in all curriculum areas throughout the year, which will undoubtedly translate into higher GCSE levels for all students over time.
