Enriching Students Lives
Enrichment days at Bushey Meads continue to do ‘what it says on the tin’ and the many varied and engaging activities on offer continue to broaden cultural capital, widen learning opportunities for all students and bring a deeper level of learning to our usual curriculum offer.

It was great to see some of our Year 7 students so engaged in a special flamenco dance workshop at the start of the day last week. Originating from Andalusian Gitano culture, the dance form blends various cultural influences. The students could feel the emotion in the typically passionate, expressive Spanish dance, accompanied by the intricate guitar music.

Some of the students even had a go at trying out some of the rapid footwork, rhythmic hand-clapping and more graceful arm movements with the scarfs. It was fun to see and combined well with the Spanish food tasting experience later in the day.
