Deliciously designed!

I am absolutely thrilled to share the latest creations coming out of our Textiles room. This term, the classroom has been a total hive of activity, and the students have really outdone themselves with their latest batch of projects! Their task – to produce a food themed cushion, featuring an apt food pun.

It’s been so much fun watching everyone take a simple piece of fabric and turn it into something they’re proud to take home. From getting to grips with the sewing machines to choosing just the right colors and textures, the students have shown some serious talent.

What impressed me the most was seeing students confidently pick out their own materials and troubleshoot their own designs. Every single piece has its own “vibe”—it’s clear how much personality students poured into their work.

Textiles isn’t always easy but these groups have shown resilience and have stuck with it to get that perfect finish. It has been fantastic to see. The end products look professional, but the real highlight for me has been the atmosphere in the room—lots of creativity, a bit of trial and error, and a huge amount of pride.

A big well done to all the students involved. Your hard work has paid off and the results are “sew” impressive!
