Celebrating Teamwork in Sycamore House

This week, our Sycamore House had a brilliant assembly delivered by our Head of House, Mrs Patel, on the theme of working together.

During the assembly, Mrs Patel spoke clearly about the importance of teamwork and why it matters so much in school and beyond. She reminded students that strong teams work towards a common goal, share tasks fairly, combine ideas, and support one another. She also highlighted how teamwork helps us to build key life skills such as communication, resilience and respect.
A key part of the assembly focused on supporting our local community. Mrs Patel encouraged our Sycamore House students to continue their generous efforts by donating canned food to the Red Trust Food Bank. This is something our house is particularly strong at, and we are very proud of the kindness and generosity shown by our students.
We also took the time to celebrate some fantastic achievements. Congratulations to Eleniyah in Year 8, who was announced as the winner of the Sycamore House logo competition for 2025–2026. Her creative design will represent the house for the coming year.
Well done as well to Shiven for Best House Attendance, and to Molly for Best Attitude to Learning. These awards reflect the high standards and positive values we expect from our students.
Over the last two weeks, I have been particularly impressed by the level of collaboration I have seen during my learning walks in the vertical tutoring programme. Students have been working together maturely, supporting each other, and taking real pride in their learning. It has shown me that the Sycamore House is truly a community that values respect, responsibility and relationship.
