On the evening of 25th January 2025, people across the world had the chance to witness
something truly special: a rare alignment of several planets in the night sky. This incredible event,
often called a "planetary parade," saw Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, and Saturn line up in a near-
perfect row, creating a stunning display for anyone lucky enough to look up.
What Happened?
While planets don’t physically line up in space, their unique orbits sometimes bring them into a
position where they appear aligned when viewed from Earth. This makes it look as though they
are forming a straight line across the sky. Events like this are uncommon and only happen every
few decades, which is why it was so exciting for astronomers and stargazers alike.
Who Could See It?
The alignment was visible to anyone in
areas with clear skies and little light
pollution. People didn’t need
telescopes or special equipment—just
a good spot outside to look up at the
right time! In some places,
observatories hosted events to help
people get an even closer look through
powerful telescopes and learn more
about this amazing moment.

Why Is It Important?
This planetary alignment was not just beautiful to see; it also reminded us of the wonders of
science and the incredible movement of our solar system. For many students, teachers, and
families, it was a chance to learn more about space and feel inspired by the universe around us.
