BMS Gains the PHE Badge of Outstanding!

Following the hugely encouraging visit to our school by Michaelene Holder-March, Senior Infection Protection Control Nurse working within Public Health and her detailed report which was submitted to the Health and Safety Management Team at Hertfordshire County Council, we received a superb letter of endorsement from Jim McManus, Director of Public Health in Hertfordshire. It reflects all the outstanding work that so many staff at Bushey Meads have done to ensure our school is safe in these times.

Since March 20th the school has remained open and enabled over 750 students to return in the summer term in Catch-up Bubbles for all year groups, for all important Transition days for Year 6 into 7 and Year 11 into 12 and for the usual lessons for all Year 10 and 12 students. We even held a Year 6 Transition Fun Day for our new students in the summer holiday to support their hugely positive start to the school.

Now after months of careful planning all students have returned to school and are fully engaging with their all important learning again; it is great to see.

The letter from Jim Mcmanus shown below is testimony to all the hard work that so many key leaders from across the organisation have put into making the school Covid-Secure and is a real badge of outstanding.
