Year 10 Enterprise Challenge
After hard work and commitment from all our Year 10 Business students, the final was held on 13th February. Students have been working on a viable enterprise or product using their creative and business skills. The three groups who made the final were – Electric with Niteesh; Square Stix _ Zeal, Betty-Louise and Maisie-Ann. Postie – Taylor and Calum. Year 12 and 13 Business students also attended the final to offer their support and help the staff (Ms Lewis, Mrs Kinghorn and Mrs O’Leary) make the winning decisions.
The overall winner was Niteesh with an amazing, creative technology idea, which he researched, compiled and presented professionally. Taylor and Calum were commended for their idea. Zeal and Betty-Louise for their hard work.
UK Subway Challenge
Jaime, Charlie, Vinal and Jake attended the UK Subway Challenge Final at Cambridge University on Monday 11th February. They were up first and delivered a very professional presentation marketing their product ‘The Festival Sub’ in front of a panel of judges which included Head of Subway UK Franchising, the Marketing Director and Head of Creative Industries Cambridge University. Against extremely tough opposition they came 3rd. They were commended for their idea and concept. Well done to all of them and enjoy your £250 worth of Amazon Vouchers!
The Tenner Challenge
Students are now forming their teams and coming up with ideas ready for the launch of the National Tenner Challenge taking place in March. This is a popular challenge and Mrs Kinghorn has been running lunchtime workshops to help students prepare. Good luck to all our students  who are participating…
School Refreshment Team

Economics
Mr Jesani is enjoying his experience of teaching Economics at BMS. He has been sharing his experience of working in the financial, banking and investment industries to give our students  real life understanding of how important the economic systems are to the future of our country. He is planning trips to an Examination/Economics Conference and building links with other economic education practitioners to enrich the student experience later this year.
Year 13 Economics are always supportive with mentoring students re the subject. Students are also encouraged to lead on subjects in the classroom to share good practice.
