At Bushey Meads School, we’re proud to encourage active travel, helping students get to school in healthier, more sustainable ways. Walking, cycling, and other active options not only promote physical fitness but also contribute to a greener environment.
Walk and Stride: Start the Day Right
Our ‘Walk and Stride’ initiative encourages students to walk part of the way to school and use public transport for the rest. It’s a great way to reduce congestion, improve fitness, and feel refreshed before starting the day.
Cycling: Pedal to School
For those who prefer cycling, we offer a secure bike shed where students can lock up their bikes (please bring your own lock). Cycling is a fast, healthy, and eco-friendly way to travel to school, helping reduce traffic while improving overall fitness.
Why Active Travel Matters
Active travel benefits both health and the environment, reducing our carbon footprint and promoting physical well-being. Every step we take towards sustainable travel makes a difference for our school and the planet.
We encourage all students to take part in active travel—whether you walk, stride, or cycle. Together, we can make Bushey Meads a healthier, greener place!
