Budding Chefs in the Making!

Last week, the Food Department was delighted to welcome Year 6 students from Little Reddings and Hartsbourne Primary School. As part of an exciting cooking session, the pupils learned how to prepare a one-pot creamy, healthy pasta dish from scratch. In true kitchen style, they even took responsibility for washing up, drying the dishes, and putting everything away!

During the session, the children developed essential kitchen skills, including how to safely chop vegetables using the “bridge” and “claw” techniques. They also explored flavour by seasoning their dish with a variety of herbs and spices.

The enthusiasm and creativity on display were fantastic — we may well have some future chefs in our Trust! Well done to all the students who took part.
