This week, our Year 10 RE class demonstrated outstanding engagement during a lively and meaningful classroom debate. Students positioned themselves on opposite sides of the room to represent their viewpoints, which not only added a dynamic element to the activity but also encouraged movement and a real sense of energy within the classroom.
Throughout the debate, pupils explored a range of important and challenging topics, sharing their views with confidence and respect. Their willingness to ask thoughtful, probing questions showed a real maturity in their understanding of the subject.
Miss Sumpter acted as an excellent mediator, guiding the discussion and prompting students to think deeply about their stance. Her thoughtful questioning encouraged them to consider new perspectives, articulate their reasoning, and engage in constructive dialogue with one another.
It was lovely to see the class so invested in the debate, listening intently, responding thoughtfully, and showing such enthusiasm for their learning. A wonderful example of critical thinking and collaboration in action!
