Mr Beswick, Deputy Headteacher, delivered the assemblies this week on the theme of Achievement. Linked to our whole school motto, Aspire to Achieve, Mr Beswick talked through the steps all students needed to take in order to achieve their goals.
One key point made was that achievement is not easy – we all have to work hard in order to achieve. Students were reminded about the importance of a high attitude to learning in lessons and ensuring they are always trying their hardest, even when things are difficult.
Another important factor to achievement is attendance. Mr Beswick reminded students that the students within Bushey Meads who had the highest attendance of over 95% achieved an average one grade higher in their GCSEs than those with attendance between 90-95%.
The students were given advice on what steps they could take every day to ensure their success.
