Hello! I’m delighted to have started my role and to be joining the Pastoral team, who are all working tirelessly to support both students and staff at Bushey Meads.
A little about me: I come from a background in Quality Assurance, Training, and Consultancy mainly within a learning and development organisation, and amongst other roles, I have most recently worked as an HR officer in a People Engagement Organisation. On a personal note, I’m a mum to two boys in secondary school, so I’m well aware of the challenges and queries that the KS3 and KS4 years can bring—and I’m eager to help and support wherever I can.
Over the past week, I’ve been settling into my new role, familiarising myself with the routines and responsibilities I’ll be taking on to support the team and our students. The Pastoral team has been incredibly welcoming, and no two days have been the same so far. I’ve been immersed in both the theoretical and practical aspects of school life, and while there’s a lot to absorb, the real-life interactions and challenges have been the most valuable learning experiences so far.
I’m looking forward to meeting more staff and students as the weeks go on. The staff briefings and inductions I’ve attended have been really helpful, and I’m starting to find my rhythm in the pastoral office. It’s been eye-opening to witness the ongoing support that the Pastoral team provides to staff, students, and parents, in what feels like a constantly evolving role. I’m excited to become a reliable point of contact for everyone in the coming months, and I hope to make a meaningful impact in supporting this dedicated and busy team.
I can’t wait to meet more of you over the next few weeks!
It was lovely to welcome our new cohort of Year 7 students at the beginning of this academic year on Tuesday of this week and see so many excited and happy faces at the start and...
