A Chance to Give to a Very Worthy Cause!

We have some amazing staff at Bushey Meads who contribute massively to our own learning community but also the community outside of our school. Many of you will know Mr Dawson our ex Head of Faculty for English and current Senior Teacher of English and Media and will have benefitted from his expertise as a top teacher in the classroom.

Besides his major contribution to the school over many years he is also involved in raising money for charity and is taking part in the Sponsored Walk for Parkinson’s 2025 taking place on July 5th near Hatfield House on July 5th.

Parkinson’s disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years. The main symptoms of the disease are involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body, slow movement and a number of psychological symptoms. Although there’s currently no cure for Parkinson’s disease, treatments are available to help reduce the main symptoms and maintain quality of life for as long as possible.

Mr Dawson has a personal family connection with the inspiring charity as one of his daughters works for the organisation – and told him to get sponsored and get walking! The course is just over 6 miles and, although participants are allowed to walk (or run it), Mr Dawson is taking up the challenge and going for the faster option.
As a school community we have a Mind to Be Kind and big hearts and I know many of us value the chance to give to charity so, if you would like to sponsor Mr Dawson, do click on the link below as this is a great cause!
