Drop Everything and Read

On Thursday we embarked on our first Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R) event of the academic year. “Drop Everything and Read, is a “national celebration of reading designed to remind families to make reading a priority activity in their lives”. The focus was to engage all students and staff across our school community in reading a piece of fiction for 20 minutes during period 1.

This is an important opportunity as reading strengthens our mental muscles. Thereby, not only simulating our imagination but also analytical and comprehension abilities. Thereby, ensuring that students are practicing important reading skills needed for their education.
