This week, our Year 7 students gathered for a thought-provoking assembly on the theme of communication.
Assistant Pastoral Manager, Mrs Doran explored how the way we speak and listen to one another has a direct impact on the relationships we build, both in school and beyond.
Students reflected on the importance of showing respect through everyday interactions – from using positive body language and polite words to giving others the chance to share their views. They also discussed how taking responsibility for what we say, whether face-to-face or online, helps create a supportive and safe environment for everyone.
The assembly encouraged Year 7 to consider practical steps, such as pausing before responding, listening actively, and being mindful of tone. By practising these skills, students are not only strengthening their communication but also living out the school’s values of respect and responsibility in meaningful ways.
Welcome back! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and is ready for the new academic year ahead. Our classrooms, corridors and playgrounds are already buzzing with energy and...
