Reporting absence

It’s been ten months since Bushey Meads School moved to our new operating system, Arbor.  Whilst Arbor has provided an easier and more precise way of tracking our students attainment and achievements, did you know that it also allows our parents and carers to communicate with the Pastoral Team when notifying the school of absence and medical appointments?

Arbor can be accessed by desktop or the Arbor app and once logged in, you will find the option to send messages to Bushey Meads School, as shown below:

Arbor is our preferred method of communication for reporting absence for Years 7 to 11.  However, we do understand there may be times when you may not have access to the internet and therefore, please call the attendance line on 0208 950 3000 (option 1).

We kindly ask that you use Arbor or the attendance line to notify us of student absence rather than calling or emailing our Reception Team.  This will allow the messages to be directed to the correct department and allow our Reception Team to dedicate their time to helping students and visitors in the morning.

If we are unable to process your absence notification before the morning register closes,  or if we have not heard from you, you will receive an SMS from the school asking you to provide a reason for your child’s absence.

Please remember, when notifying the school of an absence, you must detail the symptoms, which will help us identify if there are any contagious conditions. You are also required to report your child’s absence for each day they are unwell.

We hope you find using Arbor a convenient and easy way to communicate with us.
