Monday 10 May 2021 marks the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week, the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health.
The week, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, is in its 21st year and runs from 10-16 May.
This year, the theme for the week is ‘Nature’. Across the country, people will be celebrating the mental health benefits of being around nature in their local community in a range of digital and creative ways.
Here at Bushey Meads we are very proud of the caring and nurturing environment and support we provide our students and with this in mind we have tried to provide a variety of activities for them to engage with that promote wellbeing and good mental health.
There are other initiative that will be running throughout the week including a guided meditation everyday during CDC time using Headspace.
The music department has asked students to record sounds of nature throughout the week and send them to Mr Gray. These will then be compiled to make our very own nature song!
Finally YC Herts will be joining us to signpost students to some of their amazing initiative and projects that are on offer!
We are very excited to celebrate such an important week!
