Vape Brain at BMS

The Vape Brain  – A sculpture of a brain made from boxes of seized illegal vapes arrived at BMS last week to highlight the impact nicotine dependency has on mental health.
The parametric sculpture was made by 3D design students from Hertford Regional College in Ware, who say manufacturers “target them with flavours and packaging”.

About 28,000 illegal vapes have been seized this year by Hertfordshire trading standards officers, who say unregulated vapes can contain unknown and harmful substances.

Students visited the ‘vape brain’ during their science lessons and had a lesson dedicated to the impact of vaping and the laws around vapes.

Students were intrigued by all the bright colours in the sculpture that led to conversations about how vapes were marketed.

Students thought the statements about vaping and how it had made other students feel were very impactful.
