Flair Week 2025: A Celebration of Learning...

Flair Week 2025 brought together all faculties at Bushey Meads School, offering a diverse range of activities designed to inspire, engage and challenge students. Throughout the week, students demonstrated ownership of their learning by conducting independent research, presenting their findings to peers and participating in stimulating discussions and debates—all showcasing their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm.

A highlight of the week was the presence of guest speakers, who delivered tailored workshops and lectures linked to higher education and career pathways. These esteemed professionals and alumni shared insights into their achievements, provided invaluable advice and encouraged students to pursue their passions as a foundation for future success.

Among the key events, Year 9 students participated in a dynamic competition, pitching innovative game ideas based on a design brief. Meanwhile, high-achieving Year 11 students benefited from a Study Skills workshop led by psychologist Dr. Van der Spoel, equipping them with strategies for effective GCSE revision. Additionally, Geetha Bala and Nilanee Nehrjee from the British Medical Journal delivered an insightful session on medical publishing, followed by an interactive Q&A, offering students a deeper understanding of the field.

It was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and active participation of students throughout the week. Many have expressed how much they valued these experiences and their eagerness for continued opportunities to showcase their learning.

We encourage all students to explore the enrichment projects available in the More Able Handbook to further enhance their academic journey.
