Inspiring Year 8 and 9 Assembly
Assistant Pastoral Managers Miss de Alwis and Mrs Morley-Birch led an inspiring Year 8 and 9 Assembly on Wednesday morning of this week. Under the theme of the week of Reflection they encouraged all students to reflect back to the start of the year and consider how much they had learned and developed since then.
They also set a challenge to try out a new club next term and continue to make even more effort in class and across the vibrant extra-curricular programme offered at the school.
One of the key quotes they showed on the screen in the Main Hall was “the more reflective you are, the more effective you are”
They also referenced the 3 Rs of Respect Responsibility and Relationships and reminded students that success is so much more about character than just academic success.
An inspiring Year 11 student provided some excellent advice at the end of the assembly to help with the reflections that students can do this week and over the coming holiday period to ensure that 2026 is an even more successful year as they continue their journey through Bushey Meads School.
