Year 11 Interview Selection Panels
In PSHE lessons Year 11 students were highly engaged in role playing what it was like to be on an interview panel, shortlisting applicants for an interview to join a local company. Each group had been given 3 CVs and they had to identify the key strengths and weaknesses of each CV, choosing their preferred candidate for interview and then justifying their decisions with the rest of the class.
It was a highly engaging task and the CVs really made them think about their own aspirations for the future and how best they would present themselves on paper when applying for potential workplace opportunities.
It also made them think about what employers are looking for in terms of character traits, personality, relevant experience and academic qualifications. Hopefully the lesson will support them as they continue to make plans for sixth form and studying beyond Bushey Meads School.
They are at a really crucial time in their lives, balancing the need to do as well as they can in their upcoming PPEs and GCSEs at the end of the year, but also thinking about making plans for their next steps beyond Year 11.
