Dear All,
Welcome back to yet another week at Bushey Meads School!
Today’s a busy week for our hard-working Year 11s and Year 13s, they’re tackling their first mocks of the academic year. It’s important during these stressful times to remember that there needs to be a balance between work and other aspects of your life. Take regular breaks, get enough sleep, and get your 5-a-day. Your body and your mind will thank you!
Last Friday the student leadership team met to host the first student parliament of the academic year, which I had the pleasure of attending. We spoke about various important school topics including bullying, breaking barriers between pupils and teachers, and pupil behaviour.
Last week, we hosted an enrichment day where each year engaged in some intriguing, helpful activities. For example, Year 13 spent the day investigating apprenticeships and applying to them, while getting valuable advice on writing their personal statements. As a participant, this was a very useful day.
Thank you all for reading, and have a great week!
Up The Elm,
Luca Irimia
