Beginnings and Ends!
We all know that if something starts well and gets off to a good start and ends well, generally speaking the activity will be a success. Lessons are no different and it was good to be reminded by Deputy Headteacher Ms de Groot about the importance of consistency for lessons across the school in our Friday Faculty Focus in Staff Briefing at the end of last week.
Students of course have their part to play and as parents and carers do remind your children to turn up to lessons on time, in perfect uniform and with all the equipment they need. Their pencil cases should contain pens, pencils, coloured pencils rulers, pencil sharpeners, a rubber and protractor and the all-important purple pen. Please make sure that your son or daughter is wearing their blazer and has their shirt tucked in and top button done up with the tie worn correctly.
All teachers will have an activity to start the lesson and will make sure at the end of the lesson there is a short recap on what has been learned. An orderly dismissal from the classroom with another check on uniform is an expectation as well. As always the vast majority of students do all of the above ,even without being asked and I would like to congratulate them for this excellent attitude to learning.
