Last Friday morning our More Able Coordinator Ms Hargreaves inspired us to think about exciting plans for this year’s Flair Week, taking place during the last week of term. The theme of the year underpinning our More Able agenda is ‘Gusto’ and we are all trying to encourage all students to develop great ‘enjoyment and enthusiasm’ in their learning, both in and outside of the classroom’.
Nearly forty Year 11 students have also been identified and invited to participate in our annual Time to Shine programme, assisting and encouraging them to secure those very top Level 9 grades at GSCE. In the morning Staff Briefing meeting key teachers shared ideas that they have used in the past and are planning to use this year as part of the school-wide celebration of our strong More Able agenda and to support all students to show Flair and Gusto in their learning.
As parents and carers do play your important part and look at the well-resourced More Able section of our school website: More Able at Bushey Meads
Do also take a moment to look with your child and the superb Gusto Booklet published earlier this year and packed full of a variety of activities that students can engage with to develop their Growth Mindset and improve their progress and attainment.
