This week, a small group of Year 8 parents met with Miss de Alwis and Ms de Groot for a productive discussion. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to share feedback, discuss key priorities for the year, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Topics covered included communication, particularly around assessment points, and home learning. Maintaining high standards and expectations for all students was also a shared focus. The discussion touched on parental engagement and student enjoyment, with the group acknowledging the so-called “Year 8 dip”, and reflecting on how to keep motivation and enthusiasm high during this important stage of secondary education.
If other Year 8 parents are interested in joining the group or attending the next meeting, please contact Ms de Groot for further details.
