Sociology Year 13 – Research Methods in...

Year 13 Sociology students kicked off the term by presenting the group projects they had worked on over the summer, each focusing on a different sociological research method. To make the sessions interactive, the groups created quizzes for their classmates to complete, and after each presentation, students gave verbal feedback to the presenting group, sharing thoughtful comments and questions.

I had the pleasure of watching the presentations and was impressed by the students’ teamwork, creativity, and confidence in explaining their research. The combination of quizzes and peer feedback made the sessions both fun and highly informative.

One student said, “It was really fun teaching the class and quizzing them on our project. It felt different from the usual lessons and made the whole experience more engaging.”

The sessions were a fantastic start to the term, highlighting independent learning, collaboration, and genuine enthusiasm for Sociology. Year 13 set a high standard for the year ahead.
