In Mrs Bragoli’s Year 8 dance lesson on Tuesday morning of this week students were performing their group choreographies based on the fight scene from Westside Story. The teacher and the rest of the class were watching the performances and students were provided with feedback about the strengths of their performances and the key next steps they could take to make even more progress.

Engagement was high and, at the end of the lesson, the teacher led an effective discussion activity encouraging the class to reflect on their progress in the lesson. Using assessment for learning strategies to identify key next steps, students raised their hands to give her feedback which would enable her to shape the future planning.
It was a great lesson – engagement was high and all students participated positively and made progress. Behaviour for learning was excellent and everyone was supporting everyone around them to do well.
