PE Lessons to Make You Proud!

It was a privilege to walk through a number of PE lessons on a sunny Tuesday morning of this week and see all the Year 7 students enjoying the varied activities, listening to the teachers and responding well to the feedback provided.

In one lesson Mr Kwok was supporting the students brilliantly and with great kindness. He was providing them with great encouraging and helpful feedback throughout the game of rounders, enabling them to make good progress in the moment and all the way through the lesson. Engagement was high and students were really enjoying the activity which was developing a sense of competitive teamwork, as well as promoting good physical exercise.

In the lesson led by Mr James, students were really supporting each other well to make good progress. They were all provided with excellent peer and teacher feedback to help develop their skills of hand-eye coordination to successfully hit the ball and participate in a game of rounders. Excellent adaptations had been made to ensure that all students were able to participate fully, supported and encouraged by the Learning Assistant. It was inspiring to see how well the lesson was progressing and how engaged all the students were.
In Mrs Cartledge’s lesson the students were honing their skills at throwing a shot put, practising that weight transfer from one leg to the other to generate greater power in the throw. Assessment for learning strategies employed and the ongoing questioning and feedback was supporting the students to progress well and gain a real sense of achievement.
