Knowledge Organisers are Key
With content heavy subjects, Knowledge Organisers can be a really key element of an effective revision strategy and, as we approach the second round of PPE examinations for Year 11 and 13 students, and the real GCSE and A level exams in May and June of this year, I would encourage all students to consider creating and using them.
Earlier this half term, Deputy Head of Science Mr Charmokly explained to all staff in a Staff Briefing meeting that, when they are used effectively and in conjunction with past papers, Knowledge Organisers can move all students into the High Knowledge High Skill quadrant, poised for great success.
Some subjects at BMS provide students with ready made Knowledge Organisers but many students create their own, and even this process strongly aids retention and recall which is fundamental to all exams – worth doing!
