Thrill Seekers – Business Studies...
On the first of October, students at Bushey Meads School had an Enrichment Day. This meant off curricular learning for the day- a chance to gain experience & knowledge in new areas. The Year 12 Business Studies and Economics students went to Thorpe Park, though not without considering the entrepreneurial aspect to the amusement park.
“I found the trip really fun. It was nice to be on a school trip again after so long due to covid and I really enjoyed all the rides.”– Laiba Bhatti, 12Beech
Whilst we were able to enjoy rides, we were handed a booklet that we had to fill in by the end of the day. This looked at Thorpe Park in relation to its business activity, and asked us to analyse it for ourselves, giving us a chance to apply the theoretical side of our studies to real life. It was a privilege to be given this opportunity, and I really enjoyed my time. I really love rollercoasters, and my favourite ride was ‘SAW’; I loved the initial drop.
