Last Friday 17th October, fifty eight students who completed the GAP tasks over the summer holiday started the year strong and finished the term in style with a fantastic rewards trip to Thorpe Park, a well-deserved treat for their hard work and commitment to the GAP programme year after year.
Throughout the day, the students made the most of the opportunity, taking on some of the park’s biggest and most thrilling rides, including Vortex, Stealth and the brand new Hyperia. Many also stayed on for Fright Night, making the most of the spooky evening atmosphere.
The students described the day as “very fun,” “an incredible experience,” and said they loved “being able to walk around freely and go on whatever we wanted.” One student commented, “Loved having the opportunity to stay for Fright Night, my best ride was Hyperia!” Another added, “It’s worth doing the GAP tasks because the trip is amazing!”
The staff also had a brilliant time, with even the bravest among them taking on some of the biggest rides including Mrs Hughes, who faced the thrilling Hyperia roller coaster!
Many students also shared advice for those who didn’t take part in the GAP programme this year, encouraging them to get involved next summer. As one student said:
“Don’t miss out, it’s worth doing the GAP tasks for a fun, long lasting reward!”
I was very proud to see our students showing their best behaviour and reflecting our school values throughout the day. They were a credit to Bushey Meads.
Make sure to join the GAP Programme next summer and complete the GAP tasks so you don’t miss out on the next unforgettable experience!
