House Representatives and Student Leadership

House Representatives and Student Leadership
At Bushey Meads, there are loads of fantastic opportunities to get involved in student leadership! Whether it’s in your favourite subject, like History, PE or Drama, or a member of student parliament! They are all great ways to ensure your voice is heard, and try lots of exciting new opportunities! As our Student Leadership Consultant Tom Haverson said:
“Last Academic year I was a Humanities subject leader ( History ) and I really enjoyed embracing my passion for History and developing it further through this student leadership position. Such as taking an active role in governors day greeting them in the morning and on the student panel discussing ways we can improve the humanities facility and ways of improving ways of teaching humanities across the wider school. Also in a few of the assemblies I was involved with I discussed how we can learn from History and heroic things historical figures have done such as Tim Jenkins in 1970’s South Africa and Desmond Doss in World War 2. I would highly recommend being a student learning consultant or Subject leader in humanities as I am happy to say I am again this year and enjoying it, these are just a few of the things I got up to and there will be more this year.”
