This week across Bushey Meads, the pastoral team have been working hard to develop student understanding around our values of Respect and Responsibility—two values that sit at the heart of everything we do as a school community.
The team has been encouraging students to reflect on what it means to show respect: for themselves, for others, and for the environment around them. Respect isn’t just about good manners—it’s about listening to others, celebrating differences, and understanding that every individual has the right to feel safe, heard, and valued.
We’re also exploring the idea of responsibility—taking ownership for our actions, our learning, and the way we contribute to the school community. Whether it’s arriving to lessons on time, wearing the correct uniform, or supporting a friend who’s having a tough day, these small daily actions help build a culture of kindness and accountability.
Things to Talk About at Home:
Small Steps, Big Impact:
We’re encouraging every student to set themselves a small goal this week—perhaps helping someone without being asked, showing patience in a difficult situation, or taking extra care with their work.
Together, let’s continue to support each other in creating a school where everyone feels respected, trusted, and inspired to be their best selves.
We are thrilled to announce an exciting upcoming Rewards Trip for students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence throughout the school year! This special...
