A Good Way to Start the Day
Character Development Time does what is ‘says on the tin’ and serves as a very positive way to start the day and helps to develop those all-important character traits that so often trump and certainly complement academic success.
Facilitated by Miss Naqvi, Sixth Form students are pictured here taking part in a higher level discussion about a topical subject, developing their higher order thinking and abilities to effectively communicate their thoughts and opinions to an audience.
Mr O’Kelly’s Character Development Group were participating in the Weekly Quiz, an activity often packed full of the latest topical news items and current affairs, ensuring students’ cultural capital and general knowledge is developing and standing them in good stead for the future.
As parents and carers, do ask your children questions about the Character Time activities they do each week to further deepen their knowledge and understanding and also get them to reinforce the Theme of the Week by enquiring each week as to what it is and how it perhaps applies to them and their future aspirations. We can all work together to develop outstanding young adults for the future – those who achieve highly but also have great character.
