This week the PE and Health Faculty have launched the BMS PE Home Learning Booklet for all KS3 students. The aim of the booklet is to provide students with a series of practical and theoretical challenges for students to complete at home. All completed challenges will be rewarded with Reward points with students having the flexibility to complete the challenges which most match their own interests. The challenges categories are :

ME AND PE – an analysis of students individual performance and progress in PE

THE HUMAN BODY– a look at the skeleton, muscular, cardio and respiratory systems (great for students considering GCSE PE in the future)

FITNESS AND TRAINING – a look at the different components of fitness and how they are applied across a range of sports

PHYSICAL CHALLENGES –  a range of physical challenges for students to complete at home including Joe Wicks workouts, SSP Challenges, YSY challenges, circuits and fun fitness ideas

MY FAVOURITE SPORT CHALLENGES –  an opportunity for students to investigate their favourite sports, teams, performers, stadiums and equipment

LUCKY DIP CHALLENGES – including studies of diet, media influences, books and films related to sport.

The PE faculty staff will continue adding to the challenges over the next few weeks. All KS3 students have had the booklet shared with them and students must remember to add their copy of the booklet into their PE teachers google classroom so we can reward the challenges you have completed. If students want to print out the booklet and complete as written tasks students can add pictures of their completed work into the google classroom. It is essential that we continue to remember all the physical and mental benefits of regular exercise. If students are looking for further challenges there are a wide range of training of smartphone training apps you can use to help you track your activity including MAPMYFITNESS, MAPMYRUN and MAPMYRIDE which might help provide further motivation for you.
