Flip Theatre Visit

Last week, our Year 7 CDCs were lucky enough to take part in Life Skills for Resilience workshops delivered by Flip Theatre.  This was made possible because of a grant awarded to Flip Theatre by Councillor Laurence Brass so they could deliver this important workshop to a local school.

The workshops are designed to give both students and teachers key mental health skills including ‘the 5 ways to wellbeing’ (Mind UK and NHS) to look after their own mental health and allow them to put what they have learnt into practice through guided role play.  The sessions are led by professional actors who have training and qualifications in ‘understanding children and young people’s mental health’ and over 15 years’ experience.  These workshops have successfully been delivered across Hertfordshire and Hampshire over the last year to help make children more resilient.

The Year 7 students thoroughly enjoyed the workshops as you can see from the photos.  They had fun learning about the 5 ways to wellbeing:

  1. Keep Learning
  2. Connect
  3. Take Notice
  4. Give
  5. Be Active
