Becoming an Expert

It was fantastic to see so many parents, carers and students attend both sittings of our annual More Able Evening on Wednesday evening this week.

The Main Hall was packed for both sessions and all present learned about how to become ‘more able today than yesterday’.

Based on proven research, Associate Leader Mrs Wright reminded students that to become experts they have to practise over time, but also practise in the right way and guided by their teachers. If they do that, their brains and learning potential will develop. In school every day, responding to green pen ‘next steps’ in purple pen will also aid this journey of developing to be an expert. The informative evening was punctuated with advice, performances, interactive activities for students and parents to complete and thoughtful discussions. Our desire is that all children at BMS become ‘experts’ in at least one field during their time in our wonderful school.
