A team of year 7 students from Bushey Meads triumphed at the London regional final of the F1 in Schools competition. ‘The Rays of F1’ team; Matthew L, Alex C, Ishaan T, Aman R, Trishan C and Darius O had worked tirelessly since September, designing and manufacturing a model F1 car to be raced against schools from the London area.
Not only did the car perform well in the race, travelling the 20m track in 1.4 seconds, but the boys had to present to a panel of judges to show all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the challenge.
The students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and excellent communication just to get to the final. So to win their class (Entry Class) was the icing on the cake!
Much thanks must also go to the families of the students, who helped in the car manufacturing stages, uniform design and all those late pick-ups from school!
Well done ‘The Rays of F1’ and I look forward to seeing even more innovation from you next year.
