Amazing Ash House Assembly
It was a privilege to join Ash House assembly this week and hear from their inspirational Head of House Ms Hughes talk about the hugely important Theme of the Week Consideration.
Sitting at the heart of our school, along with our mantra of ‘Our School Has a Mind to Be Kind’, Ms Hughes unpicked what consideration looks like in theory and practice. She encouraged all students to stop and think before they say something which might be unkind and to always do what is best for themselves and others.
She also launched our latest House Activity which is to bring in as many items as possible for the local Red Trust Foodbank based in Bushey. Every item brought in will reward each student with an R2 for the act of kindness shown, so do bring in as many items as you can. Students in Ash House listened to an engaging video from the Foodbank Manager explaining about the amazing work they do and the support they provide in the community.
The assembly ended with Ms Hughes encouraging everyone to consider aiming for 100% attendance this term and a high AtL or Attitude to learning – showing consideration to your learning and the teachers and other students in your classroom.
It was a very positive way to start the week at Bushey Meads.
