Monday 18th June

Year 8 Rounders v St.Michaels
Result: Win 23.5 – 12
Team:  Maisie, Ella, Sophie, Lucie, Ella, Rachel, Vera, Nova, Zuva, CJ, Eunice.

BMS were dominant from the outset in this friendly fixture.  With tight fielding they restricted their hosts in the first innings and then dominated with the bat, great hitting from Maisie, Lucie and Sophie saw BMS take a what proved to be ‘unassailable’ lead into the second innings.

The second innings saw the students get the opportunity to play in different fielding positions to help their game and tactical awareness.  These changes did not affect the BMS play as they continued to dominate.  Vera put int a fine performance at backstop linking well with Rachel at second post and the batting performances just added to the overall victory.
A great team performance.
Well done ladies.

Year 8 Rounders v Bushey Aacademy

Team 1:  Maisie, Ella, Sophie P, Sophie Z, Lucie, Ella

Team 2: Rachel, Vera, Nova, Zuva, CJ, Eunice.

The year 8 rounders team took part in a 6 aside friendly festival at Bushey Academy on Tuesday.  The adapted version of the game allowed the students the opportunity to have lots of batting attempts as well as develop more active fielding roles.

Both teams played really well and came away with victories in 3 of the 4 matches, only losing the 4th game by half a rounder.

Team 1 secured 5-3.5 and 8.5-4.5 victories with Maisie and Lucie praised for their play

Team 2 narrowly lost 6-6.5 and then dominated their second game with a 9-3.5 victory. Vera and Rachel stand out performers in these games.

The girls as always were a credit to themselves and the school.
