On the 1st February enrichment day, half the students in Year 7 had a very inspiring trip to the National Gallery. The trip included a tour of some of key works from the gallery’s world class collection of art, given by the excellent gallery education department staff. They helped make the paintings and the ideas behind them come to life for our students. Students also had an opportunity to view paintings in other areas of the gallery and produce their own drawings from the work. The accompanying teachers on the trip were very impressed by our students engagement in the painting they we’re viewing and in the drawings and other work they were producing in their worksheets. Both students and staff were enthused and inspired by the trip. The other half of yr7 will be visiting the Tate Britain on the enrichment day in March.
