With such an important Theme of the Week this week, it was a real privilege to join Oak House and sit in on their House Assembly led by Mr Symeou, their inspirational Head of House. He reminded the students of the wonderfully diverse and rich society that we live in and how high performing organisations have adapted and changed to ensure they reflect real equality and harness the power of diversity. Linking this to our context at Bushey Meads, he kept it simple and reminded students to always show respect, build positive relationships with all people whatever their backgrounds and take real responsibility to value what we have in our superb school community. It made for a very positive start to the day.
At the end of the assembly an amazing promotional video was played to the students promoting the next exciting House event – the House Quiz. Do encourage your children to get involved in teams of six (which can be cross-age teams) to see if they can Beat the Champion!
